Tribute to Michael Jackson 1958 - 2009

Tribute to Michael Jackson
Since I was a kid, I have always enjoyed listening and dancing to his music. Here's a little tribute to our beloved king of pop - Michael Jackson, that I have drawn using Brush apps on my iPhone 3G. Michael Jackson 1958 - 2009, may he rest in peace.

Disco Stick Geisha

Took me a good 3 hours to think through this composition and put it together. I think was hooked to listening to Lady Gaga's Love Games on my iPhone. And wondered how a "disco stick" would look like. Of course, from the lyrics, it's definitely something kinky and naughty. So I used a Geisha as a subject on forbidden fantasy. Thus this composition comes up.

Week 17 - Iranian Election: Voted with Blood

Week 17: Iranian Election
I call this piece, Voted With Blood with this week's theme - Iranian Election. Much violence was reported in the news about this election.

Edited:
Week 17: Iranian Election
I have added the text in using TypeDrawing app. Now I really love the chaotic effect that it has.

idrawgirls.com RAWKS!

Just a short post. I stumbled on this great tutorial site for figure and character drawing. idrawgirls.com I'm working on another piece which I'm experimenting as well trying different techniques of composing an artwork. So practically, I'm unlearning, relearning and learning now. Art is a continuous learning journey, glad I'm enjoying the trip.

Portrait of Kevin

Portrait of Kevin
I posted a note on my Facebook. Asking friends to submit a picture of themselves. And so they did, here's a portrait of Kevin. One of the first portrait of friends I did on my iPhone using Brushes App.

Saturn devoring his SONwich!

Saturn devouring his SONwich!
It's week 16 at Brushes Painting a Week & Other Brushes Projects. We're doing 'Drama' this week and also pieces ala Goya. As always I like to combining both of them together. This was adapted from it's gory original, 'Saturn devouring his son'. What a drama! What a whoppa!

That Brute...

Here I'm trying to experiment on different brushes and lineworks.

Another Black Women

Another imaginary black woman that came to my head. Kind of like her nose and expression on this one. However I think it's a little flat. Need to brush up on my renders.

My Wife's Portrait

My Wife's Portrait
Here's a portrait of my wife all bunned up at home. I think I still need more patience in doing portraits. I did this on my iPhone while she's watching TV.

Mufflegot's featured on Fingerpainted.it

This is fantastic! Mufflegot just got featured on Fingerpainted.it by Matthew Watkins. Thanks Matthew.

threefivecanvas.com

If you can't see the images that I've uploaded, it is because my blog is in transit. I have acquired a domain name for my blog 'threefivecanvas.com'. It'll be about another 2 more days till the blog is properly propagated.

My apologies if you can't enjoy my blog during this propagation period.

You can also view my artworks here on Flickr.

Ollia the Assassin

Ollia the Assassin
I had put this aside for a few days to work on the Kadinsky, Dreams project. I just finished this project on my way home to unwind myself from a days work.

I was fascinated by the name Ollia as I was working with a client with that name. Ollia sounds pretty much Russian if you ask me. I call her Ollia Gerlukovich. And yes she's one tough cookie.

Week 15: Kadinsky - Dreams

Here I have created 3 variations of Wassily Kadinsky styled artworks with the subject of Dreams. I find that Kadinsky artworks are pretty surrealistic using basic geometrical shapes and colours on his art pieces. However his early works does not take up this 'art metamorphosis' till later in his career as an artist.

I hope you enjoyed my version of Kadinsky styled paintings done on my iPhone 3G. But with this I still can't surpass the masters. ;) You can view Kadinsky artworks here.

Black Woman

Black Woman
I just illustrated this right the top off my head without any live subject. Just practicing on portrait/character design. I noticed if your characters have a long profile. Settling for shorter would justify the overall look.

Mufflegot

Mufflegot
Yeap that's the lil' furry dude on my patchwork project. His name is Mufflegot.

My Portrait by Susan Murtaugh

I had the honour to get my portrait done by Susan Murtaugh. I've always looked up to her as a mentor and she's been really generous in sharing her experiences with me. She's considered one my 'Brushes' heroes. Thank you Susan.

If you wish to see more of her works, they are on flickr.

Self Portrait

Here's my first attempt on self portrait. Pretty rough and sketchy approach I must say. Feel free to leave your comments and be as critical as you can.

The Daily Grind

Here's a common scene everytime I'm heading out to work in a train. It can get pretty 'sardine-pack' if you know what I mean. Good thing I could still dish out my iPhone to do this quick sketch.

Fighting Spiders

Here I have my rendition of the characters from 'Fighting Spiders'. It's a drama series which is currently on my local television. So here I have from left to right; Soon Lee, Charlie and Peter characters in cartoon. I always have an idea of this drama series turning into an animated series.

Watch 'Fighting Spiders' Trailers here.

Alas We're Almost There...

Alas We're Almost There...
Here's a piece which started off as only a plain path. I continued to work on it when I discovered the subject this week is 'Castle'. So I made use of the unfinished work to complete this week's subject.

Edited:
I have added in the making of "Alas We're Almost There..." on Flickr.
